Hey, everyone, this is Dahs Jordan with some breaking news. Well, it’s more so news to me and I just wanted to bring this to everyone else’s attention. Two days ago, a teaser trailer was released for the upcoming DC Animated Movie, ‘Batman: Return of The Caped Crusaders.
So…yeah. This is happening, apparently. Coming soon will be an animated love letter to the original Batman TV series from the 1960s, which starred the Mayor of Quahog himself, Adam West & Burt Ward as DC Comics’ Dynamic Duo. You also heard right, the two legendary cornball actors will be returning to do the voice, as well as the lovely Julie Newmar returning as Catwoman.
Unfortunately, the film will also feature The Joker, The Penguin, & The Riddler. Not to say that it’s not good to see those guys. The only thing with that is the Ceasar Romero, Burgess Meredith & Frank Gorshin had sadly passed away years ago. I doubt DC will try and get Mark Hamill back to voice The Joker one last time…AGAIN! Besides, it’s obvious that they want to stay faithful to the show, as well as the Silver Age Batman comics. Most likely, they’ll get voice actors to do impersonations of the late actors.
Judging from the trailer, it seems like this movie will pay homage, as well as parody the more ridiculous and cheesy nature of the original show. Which I will admit, is a much-needed breath of fresh air from all of the dark and brooding interpretations of Batman. A breath of fresh air that we never knew we needed. With that said, who else is excited to see Batman & Robin POW, BANG, & BIFF their way through the classic Rogues Gallery? ‘Batman: Return of The Caped Crusaders’ will be released digitally on October 11th and on DVD & Blu-Ray on November 1st of this year. Who knows? Maybe I’ll talk about it soon. Hint Hint! Until then, “Gotta Gotta Gotta Gotta Gotta Gotta Gotta Gotta Dash!”
